Originally the Bootmakers Store, dating back to the early 1900’s, the charming café is nestled amongst the numerous historic buildings and antique shops that Strathalbyn has become renowned for.
Husband and wife team, Andrew and Julie Roberts, have been the proud owners of Appleseed Cafe since October 2010. The couple have lived in Strathalbyn for the majority of their lives and love being involved in their local community.
Head Chef Andy takes great pride in using fresh, locally sourced produce. His seasonal menu’s offer a wide range of dishes including a variety of vegetarian and gluten free meals. Would you like a glass of wine with your meal? Not a problem, their wine list features local wines from the Langhorne Creek Wine region, just a few minutes down the road. In addition to their lunch menu, there is also a range of Panini rolls, tortilla wraps and Turkish breads for your quick grab and go lunch options.
Now onto the most important part – coffee and cake! Showcasing local boutique coffee roaster, UPTOWN Coffee, their barista made coffee is seriously delicious. Tea Drop teas are also a hit for those indulging in Devonshire tea with house made scones and jam + double thick cream, yum! Other popular choices are their freshly squeezed juices, smoothies and frappes. Oh… did we mention their specialty hot chocolates are to die for with their signature chocolate dipped spoon! Their house made cake selection is ever changing; vanilla slice, chocolate mousse cake, lemon curd tart, honey and pistachio cheesecake, the list goes on and on. Gluten and dairy free options are available too.
